Aden citizens face price controls imposed by coalition

Yemen’s Aden city, controlled by the coalition, saw a sudden increase in the price of cooking gas, causing uproar among citizens. The price of a gas cylinder jumped to 9,000 riyals, a 1,500 riyals hike without any explanation from the coalition-backed government.

The price surge sparked anger among residents, leading to gas stations in various neighborhoods closing their doors, potentially fueling the black market. The citizens blamed the local authority linked to the Saudi-formed Presidential Transitional Council for exploiting and causing financial strain on the people.

The unexpected price rise could also result in increased transportation costs for citizens. As tensions rise, the demand for transparency and fair pricing practices grows among the affected population in Aden.
