Devastating floods and landslides in Bosnia have claimed 22 lives, with six people still missing. The civil protection service has ordered the evacuation of citizens from high-risk regions as heavy rains continue to pose a threat.

The southern Herzegovina-Neretva canton reported 19 deaths, and the Central-Bosnian canton recorded three fatalities. The floods have destroyed infrastructure and isolated populated areas, with rescue operations ongoing.

The village of Donja Jablanica suffered severe damage, leading to homes being buried under mud and rocks. Search and rescue teams are working tirelessly to locate the missing individuals.

The government has declared a state of natural disaster and activated the EU Civil Protection Mechanism. Tuesday was observed as a day of mourning in Bosnia.
