The Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights exposed the brutal torture experienced by 70 employees of UN, international, and local NGOs in secret prisons run by the Houthi terrorist militia for over four months. On the 120th anniversary of the Houthi militia’s abduction of humanitarian workers, the ministry strongly condemned the ongoing abduction and disappearance of these individuals, including 5 women, since June 2024.
Nineteen of these abducted individuals work for United Nations agencies and international organizations, yet their families have no information about their whereabouts or conditions, violating their basic rights to liberty and safety. The Houthi militias’ actions showcase a clear disregard for humanitarian norms and international appeals for their release.
