The US Has Spent Over $22 Billion on Military Aid to Israel in the Past Year
A recent report from Brown University’s Watson Institute reveals that the US has provided Israel with $17.9 billion in military aid since the start of the genocidal war on Gaza last October. This amount is the highest in inflation-adjusted dollars, surpassing aid given during previous conflicts.
In addition to military aid, the US has also contributed $4.86 billion to support pro-Israel operations in the region, including in Yemen. Despite opposition from some American officials and human rights groups, the US continues to offer unwavering support to Israel, fueling ongoing conflicts in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon.
The ongoing violence in the region has resulted in the death of thousands of Palestinians and Lebanese civilians, with Hamas and Hezbollah responding to Israeli aggression with retaliatory operations. The conflict shows no signs of abating, as the US continues to provide military aid and diplomatic cover to Israel.
The report underscores the significant financial support provided by the US to Israel and the devastating impact it has on civilian populations in the region.
