The President of Syria Meets with UNHCR High Commissioner
President Bashar al-Assad met with Filippo Grandi, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), discussing the serious humanitarian situation in the region. Despite challenges, President al-Assad expressed Syria’s willingness to collaborate with international organizations, particularly the UNHCR, to address the deteriorating humanitarian crisis in Lebanon.
Grandi commended Syria’s efforts at border crossings to facilitate the entry of displaced persons and the cooperation with international organizations at the border. He emphasized the ongoing cooperation to overcome obstacles hindering humanitarian efforts.
