The fight against cybercrime is a collective responsibility, according to the Director of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Center (NPF-NCCC), CP Uche Ifeanyi Henry. The center has already secured 12 convictions with ongoing prosecutions of cybercriminals.
CP Henry emphasized the importance of collaboration in combating cybercrime, stating that everyone must come together in this effort. The 2024 Cybersecurity Week, themed “Secure Our World,” aims to educate the public on digital security.
The Center is actively engaged in advocacy efforts against cybercrime and collaborates with various government agencies and international partners. CP Henry stressed the need for global cooperation to address the borderless nature of cybercrime.
Highlighting the achievements of the Center, CP Henry mentioned the recovery of funds for victims, successful prosecutions, and deterrence of cybercriminals. The Cybersecurity Week serves to raise awareness about the dangers of cybercrime among the youth and educate the public on staying safe online.
