Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan recently attended the CIS Council of Heads of State session in Moscow, where important discussions took place. Pashinyan discussed the progress made in the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, emphasizing the need for mutual recognition of territorial integrity and the establishment of peaceful relations.
He highlighted the successful demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border and the signing of the regulation on joint border demarcation commissions. Pashinyan also presented the “Crossroads of Peace” project, offering solutions to unblock transport and economic connections in the region.
Armenia is committed to ensuring the safe passage of goods and people through its territory, promoting regional cooperation and stability. Pashinyan concluded by expressing Armenia’s support for Tajikistan’s presidency of the CIS in 2025 and their willingness to contribute to the organization’s initiatives.
The session concluded with the signing of protocols to enhance cooperation within the CIS, including the recognition of Meghri in Armenia as the Cultural Capital of the CIS in 2026.
