In a recent report by Tafra titled “What are the MPs Doing? Parliamentary Activity in Morocco through the Questions of MPs,” it was revealed that only 19% of the 3,200 parliamentary questions directed at the government during the fifth legislative term had received a response.
Interestingly, there was a shift in parliamentary dynamics compared to previous reports, with a higher number of questions coming from the majority party, including the National Rally of Independents. However, their response rate was relatively low at 12%.
The report also highlighted the top five ministries that received the most questions, including Education, Health, Agriculture, Equipment, and Interior. On the other hand, ministries such as the Budget Ministry and the Prime Minister’s Office received the fewest inquiries.
Parliamentary questions play a crucial role in holding the government accountable and shaping public policy in Morocco. By analyzing these questions and responses, citizens can gain valuable insights into the political dynamics of the country.
Overall, the report sheds light on the importance of parliamentary questions and emphasizes the need for transparency and accountability in government activities.
