Iraq’s Oil Sector Soars with the Start of Jet Fuel Exports
In a significant development, Iraqi Deputy Oil Minister Hamid Younis announced the commencement of jet fuel exports from Iraqi ports. According to Younis, the daily volumes of jet fuel being exported range between 800 and 1,000 tons, meeting international quality standards.
Younis highlighted how this step showcases the potential for growth in Iraq’s oil sector, strengthening its international role as a key player in the production and sale of oil and its byproducts. The export of oil derivatives, including jet fuel, significantly contributes to the country’s financial revenues, supporting its economy.
With the goal of achieving self-sufficiency in oil derivatives and enhancing refining capacity, Iraq has embarked on projects like the Al-Faw Investment Refinery with a capacity of 300,000 barrels per day. This state-of-the-art refinery will produce high-quality oil derivatives for both domestic and international markets, marking a milestone in Iraq’s oil industry.
