Interpol Seeks Public Help in Solving 46 Cold Cases of Murdered Women Across Europe
Interpol has joined forces with police in six European countries to investigate 46 cold cases involving murdered women. These cases, dating back up to 40 years, remain unsolved. In an effort to crack these cases and provide closure to the victims’ families, Interpol has launched the Identify Me campaign, urging the public to come forward with any information they may have.
Interpol Secretary General Jürgen Stock emphasized the importance of community cooperation, stating, “Our goal is to identify the deceased women, bring answers to families, and deliver justice to the victims. But we can’t do it alone.” The unidentified victims, aged between 15 and 30, were found in various European countries, including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
The campaign’s previous success in identifying Rita Roberts, a victim from Belgium, has highlighted the significance of even the smallest piece of information. With advanced facial reconstruction and DNA techniques, Interpol is determined to solve these cold cases and bring closure to families who have been waiting for answers for decades.
