The recently concluded Haryana Assembly elections saw some of the wealthiest candidates vying for seats. Captain Abhimanyu of the BJP emerged as the richest candidate with assets worth Rs 491 crore, followed by Rohtak Singh of the Congress with assets exceeding Rs 484 crore. Independent candidate Savitri Jindal also made headlines with total assets of over Rs 270 crore, securing a victory in the Hisar constituency.
Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda of the Congress declared assets worth Rs 26.48 crore and emerged victorious by defeating BJP’s Manju. Abhay Singh Chautala of INLD declared assets totaling Rs 61 crore but lost the seat to Congress’ Bharat Singh Beniwal.
The BJP campaigned on the government’s performance, while the Congress focused on issues like reservation and corruption. Women, youth, farmers, and the poor were key highlights in the poll manifestos. Prominent leaders like Congress’s Hooda, BJP’s Yogi Adityanath, and JJP’s Dushyant Chautala campaigned vigorously in the final days before the elections.
