French-made howitzer destroyed in Ukraine by Russian MOD – RT video

Recently, a Caesar self-propelled artillery system was taken out by a strike drone, as confirmed by the Defense Ministry. The Russian military destroyed a French-made Caesar self-propelled howitzer in Ukraine’s Sumy Region, uncovering it at its firing position in a wooded area.

The firing position was targeted by a missile, presumably a Kh-BPLA laser-guided munition, fired by a Russian Inokhodets (Orion) medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) strike drone. The resulting explosion from the howitzer’s ammo stock was captured on footage shared by the military, showing Ukrainian servicemen fleeing the site post-strike.

The conflict in Kursk Region witnessed the return of Russian MALE drones to the battlefield, with both sides previously hampered by anti-aircraft systems. However, the Ukrainian invasion force in Kursk appears lacking in adequate anti-aircraft coverage, allowing MALE drones to operate freely and strike targets in the area.
