Tragedy struck in Jeddo, Delta State, as a father of nine, Mr. Charles, took his own life by drinking insecticide following a heated argument with his wife. He was a member of the Jeddo Community Vigilante and pleaded with his wife not to leave him before the unfortunate incident.
The gory incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, and Mr. Charles was found dead at his in-law’s place in Ugbokodo. Although no suicide note was left behind, empty bottles of the insecticide were found in his pockets.
The Police Public Relations Officer for Delta State, SP Bright Edafe, was unreachable for comments at the time of reporting. The community is left in shock over the tragic event, highlighting the importance of mental health awareness and support for individuals in distress.
