The White House Praises Gov. DeSantis for Hurricane Recovery Efforts
Following Vice President Kamala Harris’ criticism of Governor Ron DeSantis as “selfish” in the Hurricane Helene recovery efforts, President Joe Biden revealed that he considers DeSantis to be doing a great job and has been cooperative with the White House. Biden spoke to the press, stating that he personally commended DeSantis for his efforts and even provided him with his personal phone number for direct communication.
DeSantis has been actively involved in Florida’s recovery from Hurricane Helene and is also preparing for the incoming Hurricane Milton, expected to make landfall soon. Despite some initial challenges, Biden acknowledged the cooperation of all governors in assisting with the recovery efforts.
DeSantis, on the other hand, responded to Harris’ accusations of selfishness by highlighting the state’s preparedness for Hurricane Milton, including the recruitment of utility linemen and collaboration with Uber to provide transport to shelters. He urged Florida residents in the projected path of Milton to prioritize their safety.
It is commendable to see leaders working together in times of crisis for the benefit of their constituents.
