Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin recently met to discuss various important issues. During the meeting, Prime Minister Pashinyan shared details about Armenia’s “Crossroads of Peace” project and addressed concerns about the language used by certain Russian officials regarding regional matters. The Prime Minister emphasized that Armenia’s position on regional communications remains consistent.
The meeting was productive, with discussions covering a wide range of topics, including agreements on energy, education, and humanitarian sectors. Starting January 1, 2025, Armenian National Security Service border guard troops will assist in protecting Armenia’s borders with Iran and Turkey. Furthermore, the checkpoint on the Armenia-Iran border will be manned solely by Armenian Border Guard troops.
Prime Minister Pashinyan expressed gratitude to President Putin for the assistance provided by Russian Border Guard troops at the Armenia-Iran border control point since Armenia’s independence.
