President Yoon Suk-yeol, during his state visit to Singapore, visited Hyundai Motor’s Global Innovation Center on the 8th local time and highlighted the innovative manufacturing process combining AI and robots. The center, inaugurated in November last year, features a cell manufacturing system that can simultaneously produce different cars, moving away from traditional assembly lines. President Yoon praised this as a new wave of innovation in the automotive industry, emphasizing the importance of AI and robotics in modern manufacturing.

Accompanied by Hyundai Chairman Chung Euisun, President Yoon toured the autonomous vehicle production process and interacted with researchers, envisioning the center as a model for future smart factories. He also promised government support to enhance South Korea’s manufacturing productivity through the widespread adoption of AI technologies.

The visit aimed to promote AI-driven manufacturing across industries, serving as a pivotal moment for companies to recognize the transformative potential of innovation. Government officials including Deputy Prime Minister Choe Sang-mook and Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul were also part of President Yoon’s entourage during the visit.

This forward-looking approach to manufacturing promises significant advancements in productivity and efficiency, setting the stage for South Korea’s industrial transformation.
