Supreme Court won’t hear Elon Musk’s X platform appeal on trump warrant
X social media platform loses appeal in Supreme Court against search warrant in Trump case

The Supreme Court declined to hear an appeal from X over a search warrant obtained in an election-interference case involving former US president Donald Trump. The court did not provide a reason for its decision, and no dissents were noted.

The company, previously known as Twitter before being acquired by billionaire Elon Musk, argued that a nondisclosure order violated its First Amendment rights by blocking it from informing Trump about the warrant. They also contended that Trump should have been able to assert executive privilege.

Two non-partisan electronic privacy groups supported X‘s appeal on First Amendment grounds. However, prosecutors maintained that the disclosure to Trump could have compromised the investigation as there was no evidence of official use of the account by the former president.
