Samsung signs deal with workers, but CITU insists strike ongoing.

The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) has announced that the 29-day strike at Samsung’s Tamil Nadu plant will continue as no resolution was reached during talks with the state government and management. The strike, which began on September 9, has left production at the plant at a standstill.

Despite efforts to negotiate a solution, the CITU remains firm in its demands for better working conditions and job security for employees. The talks, which were held on October 7, failed to yield any results, prolonging the standoff between workers and management.

The strike has garnered widespread support from labor unions across the country, with many expressing solidarity with the striking employees. The CITU has vowed to intensify its protest until their demands are met, signaling a prolonged struggle ahead.

As the strike enters its second month, both sides remain at an impasse, raising questions about the future of Samsung’s operations in Tamil Nadu. With no end in sight, the standoff continues to escalate, underscoring the deep-rooted issues at play in the dispute.
