The Science and Technology Development Council of Armenia, chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, met for the second time to discuss the progress made in developing the scientific and technological sector. The focus was on 5 key sectors: artificial intelligence, microelectronics, robotics, quantum technology, and biotechnology. Over 70 specialists, including entrepreneurs and experts from Armenia and the Diaspora, were involved in the discussions.
One of the key proposals put forward was the establishment of centers of excellence, which would serve as hubs for attracting talent, conducting research, and developing educational programs. The aim is to bring about a significant qualitative change in Armenia through innovative programs and collaborations. The meeting also highlighted the importance of monitoring the implementation of the strategy and creating a mechanism for discussing proposals with the government.
Overall, the goal is to position Armenia as an innovative and industrially developed state through strategic investments in science and technology. The Prime Minister emphasized the need to establish criteria for selecting experts and determine the best organizational mechanisms for collaboration.
