North Korea warns NATO of ‘tragic consequences’ over criticism of Russia relations

North Korea Defies NATO, Supports Russia in Ukraine Conflict

North Korea has rejected NATO’s criticism of its cooperation with Russia and issued a warning of “tragic consequences” to the alliance. NATO had accused North Korea and Iran of arming Russia with missiles, shells, and drones to fuel the conflict in Ukraine.

Despite facing international scrutiny, North Korea continued to supply Russia with artillery shells and ballistic missiles, aiding Moscow’s military strategy in Ukraine. These shipments help bridge the gap in Russia’s ammunition supplies as its factories ramp up production.

Reports indicate that half of the artillery shells used by Russia in Ukraine were supplied by North Korea, strengthening the ties between the two countries. Additionally, a mutual defense pact was signed during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Pyongyang earlier this year.

South Korean intelligence suggests that North Korea may have sent over 6 million artillery shells to Russia, showcasing the extent of their support in the ongoing conflict. The alliance between North Korea and Russia poses a threat to NATO’s efforts in Ukraine, with potential implications for the region.
