Netanyahu pushes to rename war on October 7 anniversary

The Israeli government commemorated the one-year anniversary of the October 7 massacre with a special memorial session. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu suggested renaming the conflict from “Swords of Iron” to “War of Revival,” sparking debate among ministers.

During the meeting, a graphic video of the atrocities committed on October 7 was shown, eliciting questions about why it had not been released internationally. The IDF clarified that legal restrictions had prevented its distribution and refuted claims to the contrary.

Netanyahu’s proposal for a new name for the conflict, along with his strong stance on the ongoing war, emphasized the government’s commitment to achieving its objectives in the face of terrorism. The session concluded with further consultations with the Prime Minister.

“Determined to finish the job”

Netanyahu paid tribute to the fallen heroes and the families affected by the conflict, expressing resolve to complete the mission and ensure the safety and security of Israel.
