NA Secretariat urges ECP to remove PML-N MNA Adil Bazai for ‘anomaly’

The National Assembly Secretariat has requested the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to unseat PML-N MNA Adil Bazai, who is considered an anomaly in the political landscape. Bazai, a lawmaker from Quetta, is officially affiliated with PML-N but often criticises the government from the opposition benches, raising questions about his party allegiance.

Bazai won as an independent candidate in the February 8 general election but later joined PML-N. Despite submitting an allegiance affidavit to the ECP, he has been seen supporting PTI and SIC members, violating the law that prohibits independent candidates from switching allegiances.

The NA Secretariat, acting on a notification from PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, has requested the ECP to declare Bazai’s seat vacant due to defection from the party under Article 63-A of the Constitution. In response to reports of his potential disqualification, Bazai shared a post with a laughing emoji.
