Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis showcased his government’s successful privatization efforts in a recent social media post, following the completion of the Attiki Odos concession to Gek Terna. This marks the 11th privatization since the 2023 elections, leading to a total state revenue of 7.8 billion euros.
Mitsotakis highlighted the direct benefits for citizens, such as reduced toll fees for drivers and full exemption for private vehicles transporting individuals with disabilities. He emphasized that each strategic privatization move brings significant advantages to both the economy and society.
GEK Terna made a one-off payment of 3.27 billion euros after winning the tender for the 25-year concession of the Attiki Odos highway, selected by the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund.
