Israeli Forces Kill Palestinian Journalist Amid Threats to Stop News Coverage in Gaza

Tragedy struck as 19-year-old journalist Hassan Hamad was killed by Israeli forces in his home in Jabalia refugee camp, Gaza. Threatening messages warning him to stop reporting on Israeli attacks had been received prior to the fatal drone attack on his residence.

Israeli forces intensified their assault on Jabalia, deploying tanks and troops following heavy air strikes. Hamad, reporting on the incursion, was targeted and killed. His last words to a colleague hinted at imminent danger, expressing fear for his safety.

Prior to his death, Hamad had shared a threatening message he received from an Israeli number, warning him to cease reporting on Israel’s actions. The perilous task of reporting in Gaza has led to the deaths of 174 journalists and media workers, with thousands of civilians also falling victim to the ongoing conflict.
