An Irish family, Munir Zabad, his wife Ghada, and their children, found themselves stranded in Lebanon during Israeli missile strikes. After attending a funeral and a wedding, they were evacuated and have finally returned home to Kilkenny, Ireland. However, their son-in-law, Ali Kachab, was unable to join them and they are now appealing to the Irish Government for a visa for him.
Ghadir, the daughter, recalls her wedding amidst the chaos of bombings, saying it was finally the right time to get married after completing her master’s degree. The ceremony was cut short due to the ongoing conflict, leaving no room for celebration. Mr Zabad also faced challenges during his father’s funeral, having to bury him elsewhere due to the missile attacks.
Despite the hardships, the family remains grateful and is determined to bring Ali to Ireland safely. They are touched by the kindness of the Irish people and urge for support towards Lebanon in any way possible.
