Haider Nouri, Director of the General Company for Grain Trade, confirmed this significant achievement, highlighting that flour prices will remain stable even amidst global crises.
In a move toward self-sufficiency, Iraq’s state company recently reported the purchase of 6.3 million tons of locally produced wheat, a record-breaking amount. The Minister of Trade, Atheer Al-Ghurairy, proudly declared earlier this year that Iraq no longer needs to import wheat to maintain its strategic stocks, as the country’s production has surged.
