Friend allegedly kills international student with car in Sydney’s south-west

An international student tragically lost his life in Sydney’s south-west after being hit by a car driven by his friend. Ismail Hossain was fatally struck by a Toyota Corolla on Cornelia Street in Wiley Park as he was being dropped off at his home. The driver, a 24-year-old, accidentally accelerated instead of reversing, causing the fatal accident just after midnight.

A witness described the incident as a loud noise, resembling hitting a house, which led to the tragic discovery. Hossain, a student from Bangladesh, shared the house with four other students. The driver was arrested, charged with negligent driving causing death, and remanded in custody awaiting a court appearance.
