An international student tragically lost his life in Sydney’s south-west after being hit by a car driven by his friend. Ismail Hossain was fatally struck by a Toyota Corolla on Cornelia Street in Wiley Park as he was being dropped off at his home. The driver, a 24-year-old, accidentally accelerated instead of reversing, causing the fatal accident just after midnight.
A witness described the incident as a loud noise, resembling hitting a house, which led to the tragic discovery. Hossain, a student from Bangladesh, shared the house with four other students. The driver was arrested, charged with negligent driving causing death, and remanded in custody awaiting a court appearance.
The driver is in police custody and will face the Parramatta Bail Court. Investigations into the incident are ongoing as authorities work to understand the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
