The Coalition leads in primary votes with 38% compared to Labor’s 30%, marking the strongest showing for the Liberal and National parties since the 2022 election.
Core support for Labor remains below its level two years ago, despite slight increases for both major parties in the last month, resulting in a close race in two-party preference. 36% of voters blame Labor for the cost-of-living crisis.
Factors contributing to the rising cost of living include global issues, the business sector, and the Reserve Bank of Australia, with the price of groceries and essential goods being the primary concern for 59% of voters.
