In a startling revelation, the United States has provided a massive $22.76 billion in military aid to Israel and related regional operations in just one year. This shocking figure, uncovered by the “Costs of War” project at Brown University, highlights the extensive financial support provided by the U.S. government. However, researchers believe this amount is a conservative estimate, only covering approved security assistance funding since a specific date.

The Biden administration has facilitated over 100 arms deals with Israel, including artillery shells, anti-tank missiles, rifles, and bombs. Additionally, they recently proposed an additional $20.3 billion in arms deals with Israel for future years, subject to Congressional approval.

The U.S. Navy has also ramped up operations in the region to defend against attacks by Houthi militants in Yemen’s Red Sea, incurring additional costs. This conflict has led to $2.1 billion in lost maritime trade due to disrupted shipping routes.

Major arms manufacturers such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman have benefited greatly from this substantial military spending. The total amount of U.S. military aid to Israel since 1959 now stands at a staggering $251.2 billion when adjusted for inflation, emphasizing the longstanding financial support relationship between the two countries.
