Yulia’s Letter to Trump: A Message of Hope

Yulia’s Letter to Trump: A Message of Hope

Dear Mr. Trump,

My name is Yulia, a 12-year-old from Ukraine. I am writing to you to set the record straight. Contrary to what you may believe, Ukraine is not “gone.” Despite the devastation of war, we, the resilient people of Ukraine, are still here. My country still exists in the hearts, memories, and pains of its people.

I vividly recall the joy of playing in the streets with my friend Liza, and the sunflower fields where my family once picked flowers. Tragically, I lost my parents to the war. My mother shielded my brother Bohdan from a missile but couldn’t save herself. Now, Bohdan and I navigate a life shattered by loss and tragedy.

I urge you to see the reality of Ukraine through the eyes of children like Oksana, Maxim, and Sashko, who bear the scars of war. Our stories, our pain, matter. We are Ukraine, and as long as we endure, our country endures. Ukraine lives on in us, in our resilience, and in our unwavering spirit.

Sincerely,
Yulia
