NRM and SPLM Sign Cooperation Agreement for Ideological Training
The National Resistance Movement (NRM) in Uganda, led by President Yoweri Museveni, has signed a cooperation agreement with the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) Party to enhance the ideological training of South Sudanese leaders. The training will take place at Uganda’s National Leadership Institute in Kyankwanzi.
During a high-level meeting, the NRM side, led by Secretary-General Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong and National Treasurer Amb. Barbara Nekesa, met with the SPLM delegation led by Bol Makueng Youl. They agreed to enhance cohesion and capacity building of SPLM leaders through ideological training, emphasizing the importance of multiparty democracy.
The SPLM Secretary for External Relations, Bol Makueng Youl, commended the NRM for its support and expressed eagerness to train cadres for efficient party leadership. NRM’s Amb. Barbara Nekesa also pledged to learn from SPLM’s political strategies for improved mobilization and service delivery.
This cooperation aims to strengthen both parties’ ideologies and promote cross-border trade between Uganda and South Sudan. It highlights a commitment to democratic growth and mutual progress for the benefit of citizens in both nations.
