Recent Israeli strikes in Gaza have caused devastation, with at least 24 Palestinians killed in attacks on a mosque and a school. The Gaza Government Media Office has accused Israel of committing “two brutal massacres” by targeting the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Mosque and the Ibn Rushd school, both of which were providing shelter to hundreds of displaced people.
The Israeli military, however, claims that the facilities were being used by Hamas operatives. According to the IDF, the Al-Aqsa Mosque served as a command-and-control center for Hamas terrorists, while the Ibn Rushd school was targeted because it was being used by Hamas militants.
This latest escalation comes amid an ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, which has seen widespread destruction in the Gaza Strip. The violence has so far claimed the lives of thousands of Palestinians and Israelis. The international community has condemned Israel for its indiscriminate attacks and called for an end to the violence.
