Media institutions, mirroring the narratives pushed by the US and Israeli governments, have manipulated the public perception of events unfolding on the ground, according to historian Assal Rad. In an interview with Anadolu, she highlighted how Western media has played a major role in shaping the way many people perceive the conflict, echoing the narratives of the US and Israeli governments.

Rad argues that Palestinians are dehumanized in media coverage because they are often nameless and lack personalized stories, while Israeli victims receive more attention and empathy. As long as media institutions continue to align their narratives with those of the US and Israeli governments, Rad fears that public understanding of the conflict will remain skewed, delaying justice for Palestinians.
