KP Assembly session today to discuss CM Gandapur’s disappearance

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly faced a reshuffle as Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s whereabouts became a mystery after protests in Islamabad. Conflicting claims emerged about his arrest, with the government denying it. PTI supporters gathered in Islamabad in response to Imran Khan’s call for a peaceful protest.

The chaos escalated as protestors, including CM Gandapur’s group, breached the police cordon in Islamabad after arriving from Taxila. Gandapur reportedly disappeared after leaving party workers at KP House.

A session was called to discuss the incident, highlighting police actions and the CM’s disappearance. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi dismissed rumors of Gandapur’s arrest, though PTI warned of repercussions if true.

Despite assurances of Gandapur being on bail, the situation remained tense. The protest, initially planned for one day, extended due to crackdowns. PTI leaders vowed to continue until Imran Khan’s directive.

PML-N criticized the government’s handling of the protests, urging swift action. The Islamabad High Court ordered normalcy restoration and a designated protest location for PTI. The situation remains tense, with uncertainty and political tensions running high.
