Israel strikes Gaza, Lebanon, warns Iran

Israel unleashed intense strikes targeting Hezbollah on October 6, almost a year since the attack by Palestinian Hamas militants that sparked the war in Gaza. Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant warned Iran of repercussions if they harmed Israel, citing past achievements in Gaza and Beirut.

Iran retaliated with around 200 missiles, leading to the cancelation of flights in some Iranian airports. The European Union Aviation Safety Agency advised airlines to avoid Iranian airspace until October 31.

Strikes hit Gaza, Lebanon

Israeli air strikes in Jabaliya killed at least 17 people, while Lebanon’s south Beirut stronghold was also hit. Israeli forces and troops surrounded areas, targeting militants and terror infrastructure.

Strikes on Gaza mosque kill 26

Israeli forces continued strikes in Gaza, targeting Hamas hideouts. The military expanded humanitarian areas but faced criticism for civilian casualties in mosque attacks.

Kamala Harris on ceasefire

Vice President Kamala Harris pledged continued pressure for a ceasefire in Gaza, emphasizing the need for a deal to release hostages. The US is working closely with Israel and other regional leaders on humanitarian aid and ceasefire negotiations.
