Iran denounces Israeli attack on Gaza mosque-shelter

In a powerful statement, Esmaeil Baqaei condemned the Zionist regime for their inhumane crimes against the people of Palestine and Lebanon, including recent fatal strikes on a mosque in Deir el-Balah and residential buildings in Beirut’s Dahiyeh. Baqaei highlighted that these attacks, fueled by US-supplied weaponry, mirror the atrocities committed by terrorist groups such as Daesh.

He emphasized that the killing of civilians and destruction of essential infrastructure are intrinsic to the ideologies of Zionism and Takfirism. Baqaei called on the international community to take decisive action against the Netanyahu-led Zionist regime, labeling him the “Hitler of the new age.”

Warning of the Israeli regime’s destabilizing impact on the region, the Iranian spokesperson urged countries, especially Muslim nations, to provide humanitarian aid to Gaza and Lebanon. He stressed that Israeli strikes on schools and mosques have resulted in the deaths of numerous Palestinians, underscoring the urgent need for intervention.

As Israel escalates its offensive in Gaza and Beirut, it is imperative for the global community to address these crimes to uphold international peace and stability.

Israeli strikes on Ibn Rushd school and Al-Aqsa Martyrs Mosque in central Gaza have killed at least 26 Palestinians, as Israel intensified its bombardment of northern Gaza and southern Beirut in its widening war across the region.

The strike hit the mosque and school where displaced people were sheltering near the main hospital in the central town of Deir el-Balah.

The Israeli regime, meanwhile, announced a new air and ground offensive in Jabalia in northern Gaza, home to a densely-populated refugee camp dating back to the 1948 war.
