Hong Kong to welcome 10 new firms, focusing on AI and big data: Chan

Exciting news for Hong Kong as more than 10 companies in cutting-edge sectors like AI and big data are setting up offices in the city. This move is part of a government initiative to drive growth in the technology industry, according to Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po.

These companies, coming from mainland China, the US, and Europe, are industry leaders and will be officially introduced next month. Chan praised the Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises (OASES) for their role in bringing in these businesses.

One success story highlighted by Chan was a technology company that leased 8,000 sq ft in a top-notch commercial building, establishing its international corporate treasury and R&D center in Hong Kong to expand in the Asean region.

With more companies choosing Hong Kong as their base, there will be a surge in demand for office space and professional services, creating opportunities for growth and collaboration in the tech sector.
