Enugu Govt demolishes kidnappers’ hideout, warns property owners nearby

Enugu State Government continues its crackdown on properties linked to criminal activities, as it recently demolished a mansion in Awgu LGA believed to be a kidnappers’ den. The property, located in Amaebo Owelli Autonomous Community, was reportedly used to hold victims of kidnapping, with security agencies managing to rescue one victim and apprehend several criminals.

The Executive Chairman, Enugu Capital Territory Development Authority, Hon. Uche Anya, emphasized the government’s zero-tolerance stance on criminal activities, stating that properties associated with such acts would be demolished in accordance with the law. The government aims to prevent criminals from profiting from their deeds, ensuring that such properties are not repurposed for public use.

This proactive approach by the Mbah Administration in Enugu State aligns with its commitment to maintaining security and deterring criminal elements from operating within the state. Property owners are reminded of their responsibility to prevent criminal activities on their premises, as the government will hold them accountable for any illicit actions.

By taking decisive action to dismantle these criminal havens and repurpose the land for community benefit, Enugu State sets a strong precedent for other regions to combat violent crimes effectively.
