Exciting News: Edo Refinery Announces Expansion Plans

The management of AIPCC Energy, owners of Edo Refinery, has revealed plans to expand the 80,000 barrels per day refinery in Koko, a border town between Edo and Delta State. This expansion comes after the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) completed its crude distillation assessment of the project.

Mr. Segun Okeni, the Head of Technical Operations at Edo Refinery, stated that they are aiming to export the first cargo from the refinery by May 2025. The expansion in Koko will produce by-products such as AGO, HPFO, Naphtha, and Fuel gas. Okeni expressed optimism that the refinery would receive crude allocation from the NUPRC through domestic crude supply obligation.

The NMDPRA has already issued an operational license to Edo Refinery in Ologbo, Edo State, marking the final approval for the plant to operate as a refinery. A ceremony was held where the CEO of NMDPRA, Ahmed Farouk, presented the certificate to AIPCC, the parent company of ERPCL.
