Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has declared Monday, October 7, 2024, as a work-free day for teachers in the state to mark this year’s Teachers’ Day celebration. Schools are scheduled to resume academic activities on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. The governor made the announcement during a celebration at the Cultural Centre in Abeokuta.
In addition to the holiday, the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, Ogun State chapter, reminded members about the day off. The governor also approved the construction of 12 smart classrooms across four schools in each zone of the state. Notable achievements in the education sector include digitalized lesson plans for teachers, a data management system, funding initiatives, and infrastructure improvements.
Abiodun highlighted his commitment to completing stalled projects in schools and addressing issues of inadequate infrastructure. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing schools most in need of improvement to provide a better learning environment for students.
