A devastating flood in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton has claimed the lives of 16 people, with 15 fatalities in Jablanica and one in Konjic. Search and rescue operations are ongoing for four missing persons in Konjic and five in Jablanica. Rescue teams from Croatia, Serbia, and Turkey are assisting in delivering essential supplies to affected villages.
Temporary accommodation is being provided for those without homes, with additional beds secured for rescuers. Road communication is limited to rescue services only, as warnings are issued against unauthorized travel to Jablanica. In Drežnica, road access is slowly being restored, with residents being in constant contact with civil protection authorities.
Hospitals are adequately stocked with blood supplies and medication, with medical teams deployed to support the affected areas. Efforts are also underway to repair damaged infrastructure. The HNK Government aims to provide accurate daily reports to combat misinformation and ensure transparency.
