Zelensky to reveal ‘victory plan’ at Ramstein summit

President Volodymyr Zelensky is set to unveil his victory plan at the upcoming leader-level meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in Germany on Oct. 12. The plan includes clear steps towards ending the war and relies on the determination of partners to combat Russian aggression. The group, consisting of over 50 countries, convenes at the U.S. Ramstein Air Base and has been instrumental in providing military aid to Ukraine.

Zelensky has already shared his five-point plan with U.S. President Joe Biden and discussed it with other political figures. The plan, aimed at bolstering Ukraine’s negotiating position and pressuring Russia into a just peace, includes military and diplomatic elements such as Ukraine’s bid to join NATO.

In preparation for the meeting, the U.S. State Department has reviewed Ukraine’s plan and acknowledged its productive steps. Additionally, Ukraine has made strategic strikes on Russian ammunition depots using domestic weapons, signaling a shift in the war’s dynamics. With the upcoming meeting, Zelensky hopes to secure further support and progress towards a peaceful resolution.
