A Heartfelt Letter to Mom: A Glimpse into the Turbulent Israeli Reality

Five years have passed since you left, and now I am finally sharing my thoughts with you. The world has been chaotic, from the Covid-19 pandemic to the tumultuous Israeli political landscape under Benjamin Netanyahu’s rule. The recent horrific events, like the massacre in October and the ongoing conflict with Gaza, have left us in despair.

The past year in Israel has been like a split screen, with chaos on one side and frozen uncertainty on the other. Netanyahu’s leadership has been questioned, with no clear vision for the future amidst security failures and political upheaval.

Despite the darkness, a glimmer of hope emerged with news that mobile phones do not cause cancer, a relief for your worries. As I navigate this tumultuous reality, I miss your presence, your light in times of darkness.

In this turbulent time, I hope you have found peace. Your wisdom and strength are sorely missed, especially now when Israel needs it most. Love, Etgar
