Superior Court Justice Robin Tremblay recently concluded the case against Jacob Hoggard, finding him not guilty after the jury deliberated for just five hours. The decision was based on the Crown’s inability to prove that the similar accounts of two women were untainted.
The judge rejected the Crown’s request to have another victim testify as a “similar fact” witness, pointing out the potential impact of media exposure on the complainant’s account.
