Ukraine’s State Emergency Service pyrotechnic teams have been working tirelessly to detect and dispose of explosive ordnance since Russia’s invasion, clearing over 533,200 pieces of explosives and 148,858 hectares of territory. In the past 24 hours alone, they responded to 173 calls and removed 293 explosives. The most affected regions include Kharkiv, Kherson, Donetsk, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy.
With Ukraine being the most mined country in the world, the Defense Ministry has cleared 30,000 square kilometers of mines in the past two years. However, approximately 174,000 square kilometers of Ukrainian land are still contaminated with explosives, posing a significant danger.
Authorities urge the public to report any suspicious objects by calling 101.
