PDP’s Disciplinary Committee Ensures Fairness in Handling Petitions

The National Disciplinary Committee (NDC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), under the leadership of former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tom Ikimi, has vowed to address all petitions fairly and decisively in the midst of internal strife post the 2023 presidential election.

To tackle the disagreements within the party, the PDP National Working Committee established the disciplinary committee on August 21, allowing members to submit petitions, hear both sides, and make recommendations to the National Executive Committee (NEC).

In a statement released by Ikimi, he expressed confidence that the committee’s firm commitment to fairness would help regain trust and confidence within the party, assuaging the concerns of members nationwide. The committee has held preliminary meetings in preparation for its sensitive task and is set to commence hearings while emphasizing adherence to the PDP constitution in addressing grievances.

The NDC assured party members of its preparedness to deal with complaints transparently, urging support and cooperation from the PDP leadership. Through fairness, firmness, and decisiveness, the committee aims to restore hope and confidence in the party and the Nigerian public.
