The Ekimogun Roundtable, a socio-economic group of Ondo indigenes, has issued a plea to the Federal Government and Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to address the severe flooding devastating Ondo town. The group highlighted the urgent need for intervention as the flooding has led to loss of lives and properties annually, causing fear among residents.
Expressing concern for the escalating situation, the group called on the relevant government agencies like the Ecological Fund Office and National Emergency Management Agency to step in and provide a lasting solution. The flooding, which initially affected specific areas, has now spread across the entire town, posing a threat to lives, education, and livelihoods.
Emphasizing the need for coordinated action and political will, the group stressed the importance of collaboration between community members and government authorities to develop a comprehensive flood management plan. The call to action aims to protect families, businesses, and the future of Ondo town from further harm.
