An Israeli airstrike in south Lebanon has resulted in the tragic loss of five paramedics, with two hospitals forced to stop operations due to the ongoing attacks.
The head of Marjayoun government hospital confirmed the death of five paramedics and the injury of seven in a drone strike near the hospital. The hospital and a state-run facility in Mays al-Jabal have been evacuated, leaving them unable to operate due to lack of resources.
A rescuer was also killed in a separate Israeli strike in south Beirut, raising concerns over deliberate attacks on civil defense teams. The World Health Organization reported 28 health workers killed in Lebanon in a single day, urging for a ceasefire to protect healthcare facilities and workers.
Lebanon’s health minister condemned the attacks, highlighting the loss of 108 healthcare workers in the conflict. Three hospitals, including one on the outskirts of Beirut, suspended services due to extensive damage from the bombardment.
