Gandapur given pre-arrest bail in Pakistan

The Special Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Javed Iqbal Sheikh extended the pre-arrest bail of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur until Oct 17. Gandapur is facing charges in four separate cases related to his alleged involvement in the May 9 riots following the arrest of PTI founder Imran Khan.

Former Punjab law minister Muhammad Basharat Raja’s hearing was adjourned while bail before arrest of former federal minister Asad Umar was extended. More than 100 PTI activists were released from custody in Faisalabad.

In other news, two buses were donated by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for special education centers in Iqbal Town and Jaranwala. Two teenagers were killed in a car accident in Faisalabad, and a man was sentenced to 14 years in prison for a narcotics case. Additionally, a former president of the Gojra Press Club was kidnapped and tortured by unidentified individuals.
