World Bank ranks Morocco as top economy for business habitat

The World Bank Recognizes Morocco as a Leader in Business Environment

The World Bank’s latest publication, “Business Ready,” has highlighted Morocco’s strengths in the global business environment, ranking the Kingdom among the top eight economies worldwide. The report assesses the business climate in 50 economies using 1,200 indicators to identify areas for improvement and necessary reforms.

With a score of 68.92 in the regulatory framework category, Morocco surpasses the average for countries in the third quintile. In terms of public service and operational efficiency, the Kingdom scored 58.66 and 59.66, respectively, solidifying its position as one of the top economies for private investment.

The report, which replaces the previous “Doing Business” initiative, categorizes economies into five groups based on their performance in each sector. World Bank Chief Economist Indermit Gill emphasizes the importance of harnessing the full potential of the private sector for economic growth.

Highlighting that the private sector drives global employment, investment, output, and government revenue in developing economies, the World Bank emphasizes the crucial role of private enterprise in driving progress.
